Medicare Supplement Insurance for Florida
Medicare Supplement Insurance (aka Medigap) is designed to compliment Original Medicare (Parts A and B). You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and B in order to apply for this type of insurance. If you are newly enrolling in Part B then you might have an open enrollment window for “guaranteed issue” coverage. “Guaranteed issue” means that you can enroll in coverage even if you have serious medical history. Most people turning 65 are eligible for a 7 month guaranteed issue window. If you are turning 65 or know someone who is turning 65 in the state of Florida then you should recommend they call us. This is an extremely important thing to look into when turning age 65. Since all Medicare Supplement plans are identical by law it makes sense to compare by price and choose the lowest cost plan. We’ve compiled examples of the cost of Medigap in Florida to help you get a ballpark estimate of what you might expect to pay.
Medicare Advantage Insurance for Florida
Medicare Advantage is also known as Medicare Part C. When you use a Medicare Advantage plan you are no longer enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Instead you are obtaining coverage through a private insurance company which is subsidized by the government. The cost of a Medicare Advantage plan is usually zero therefore it is a good option for people on a limited budget. You are not allowed to purchase a Medicare Supplement policy in addition to a Medicare Advantage plan. The open enrollment window to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan is October 15 thru December 7.
Florida Prescription Drug Plan (Part D)
A Prescription Drug Plan (also known as Medicare Part D) is a type of Medicare insurance that is designed to help with the cost of prescription drugs. Prescription drug plans are offered by insurance companies and regulated by the government. Plans usually start around $20 per month for basic coverage and range up to $60 per month for an enhanced plan. We offer coverage from a multitude of carriers, therefore we can help you choose the plan with a preferred pharmacy in your area. The open enrollment window for Part D coverage is October 15 thru December 7.
